The all-American brother, the tough sister, the beauty queen eldest. In this darkly comic spoken word piece, Anthony explores the lives and premature deaths of three of his older siblings, two of whom died in the same year. He contemplates the “boring grownup meetings” he attended, why mac n’ cheese is forever ruined, and his future neighbor Mary Jane Hewlett.

World Debut of Last Sibling Standing at Tampa Fringe
Luck winked at me last week when my company, TonySolo, was chosen as a performer at the 2024 Tampa Fringe Festival on June 5-16. Tampa Bay was my old neighborhood for two decades where I jammed, performed, and evolved as a writer filed by cafe con leche and the shared imagination of Tampa’s thriving arts and music scene. Please note that “TonySolo” has been retitled as “Last Sibling Standing” which should be corrected well before June.

I’ve performed at Athen’s own Rabbit Box Stories and here’s when my name was drawn from the hat to tell my “Social Life” themed story. The Smiths and REM were my gateway to new music, books, art, and a creative life. Sure, Moz is a racist jerk now, but he jailbroke my mind out of the pop lockdown.
